This ‘Life with Laughter’ online programme has been designed just for you.
Join me, and people just like you, for a series of 6, weekly, 20 minute online group sessions of Life with Laughter fun, specifically tailored so you can enjoy the benefits of laughter, heart conscious breathing and relaxation in the comfort of your own home.
Laughing more has been said to improve mood and reduce levels of pain and discomfort. Participants in previous laughter clubs have said they have generally felt calmer, peaceful and more in control. They report having reduced pain and discomfort and that they feel more able to cope with life.
As someone who lived with chronic pain and fatigue for many years, I understand how frustrating and isolating symptoms can be. There were days and weeks when it felt there was nothing to laugh about. I learned though that laughter matters and laughing more was one of the first things I did to help myself. Enjoying the fun with people who had similar symptoms could have been so much more helpful.
What we will do:
Together we will combine laughter sounds with breathing exercises and gentle movement of hands, feet and body(depending on ability). It’s ok if at first you don’t feel like laughing, or even smiling. Laughter is best when it comes naturally and there is no pressure to take part. Your brain and body will respond to the sound of others laughter, sending feel-good hormones and chemicals around your body. Laughter is contagious and you may soon find yourself joining in.
What you will learn:
You will learn easy to use techniques you can use anytime, between laughter sessions, and whenever you choose, to help reduce stress, improve mood and be more in control in how you feel.
How does it work?
Using an online platform (Zoom) You will be with a small group of people who understand how you feel and are positive about making a personal change. You may sit, stand or lay in bed, whatever is most comfortable for you. You will be able to see and hear me and others in the group and enjoy our smiles and hearty laughs. All you need is access to the internet, and smartphone/laptop/computer with camera and microphone.
You don’t need technical know-how to take part. A link and instructions will be sent to you by email, message or text before each laughter session. Clicking the link will bring you to a small group of like-minded new friends ready for 20 minutes of fun, relaxation and tips in how to bring more laughter and joy into your life.
Before joining a Life with Laughter group, you will be asked to provide some information about your health condition to help make the sessions more appropriate to you. Information you provide will be kept in confidence
Sessions are kept to 20 minutes per week and will include laughter exercises that are accessible for all in the group. For your comfort, places are limited to a maximum of 8 people.
